There is a well-signposted network of attractive footpaths and cycleways throughout the World Heritage Site, together with
cycle parking areas in strategic locations.
National Cycle Route 45, the Mercian Way, passes directly through the Gorge, running alongside the River Severn and over the Iron Bridge on its journey from Salisbury to Chester.
National Cycle Route 55 terminates in Coalport and provides an excellent route from Telford along the Silkin Way.
The full Telford area cycle map is available from Tourist information outlets.
Some recreational walks and cycle rides are described in the Walk the Gorge leaflet which is also available from The Toll House and Tourist Information outlets.
